The World Conference on Carbon (Carbon2014) will be held in Jeju island, Korea June 29 (Sun) ~ July 4 (Fri), 2014. The Korean Carbon Society would like to host a milestone event under the theme of "Carbon Materials for Ubiquitous and Sustainable Life".
The conference will have a six-day program which consists of plenary talks, invited talks, contributed talks and poster sessions. The topics will cover almost all aspects of carbon materials including Graphene, CNTs, Carbon Hybrids, Carbon Fibers, Porous Carbons, Carbon Black, Industrial Carbons, etc.
Jeju island, the largest island in Korea, was granted UNESCO World Heritage site status because of its unique and beautiful natural scenery. Beautiful beaches, waterfalls, cliffs and caves lie in harmony, and the mild weather makes Jeju an even more ideal tourist destination. Palm trees and other tropical plants contribute to the famous and unique scenery of Jeju. The eruption of Mt. Halla that took place approximately 25 thousand years ago created the crater lake and Baekrok-dam at the summit of the mountain. In particular, Jeju island provides delicious sea food from the clean Pacific ocean.
Jeju island can be easily reached from Incheon/Seoul airport by flight for 40 min and also directly connected by an airplane from Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Taipei.
Jeju offers a very flexible entry/departure policy, which allows visitors to stay without a visa for up to 30 days for those that arrive directly into JEJU island by flights or ships.
The conference will be held at Jeju Convention Center (ICC Jeju). It is convenient to access from Jeju international airport by a limousine bus or a taxi for 1 hour. Near the conference venue, within 15 min walk, there are several hotels, pensions, resort accommodations.
We hope that you can please attend the conference that will be a really excellent venue to exchange not only recent scientific findings and new information but also to widen and strengthen friendship between international peers.
Sincerely yours,
